Aratek announced that its A600 optical fingerprint scanner has achieved MOSIP SBI 2.0 (L1) compliance and is now listed on the MOSIP Marketplace under Authentication Devices. The milestone gives governments and system integrators another trusted biometric option for MOSIP-based identity programs while further expanding Aratek’s MOSIP-aligned portfolio across the identity lifecycle—from enrollment to authentication. The MOSIP Marketplace is designed to help adopting countries discover compliant devices and software solutions for their digital identity ecosystems.
For countries building national digital identity systems, enrollment is only the beginning. Trusted authentication allows those identities to be securely used across public services, social protection, financial services, healthcare, telecom, and other identity-enabled applications.
This need is becoming increasingly relevant as MOSIP deployments mature. MOSIP currently reports 31 country engagements and 14 national rollouts, with implementations spanning countries including the Philippines, Ethiopia, Morocco, Uganda, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Togo, and others. In established programs such as the Philippines, Ethiopia, and Morocco, authentication and integration with relying parties and public services are already becoming an important part of the identity ecosystem.
By adding the A600 to the MOSIP ecosystem, Aratek gives adopting countries and their technology partners another standards-based fingerprint authentication option as they extend foundational ID into broader Digital Public Infrastructure and service delivery.

The A600 is a compact optical fingerprint scanner designed for reliable single-finger verification and authentication. Alongside its new MOSIP compliance, it carries FBI PIV, Mobile ID FAP 20, and STQC certifications and supports international biometric standards including ISO/IEC 19794-2/-4, ANSI/INCITS 378/381, and WSQ, helping simplify integration and biometric data exchange across identity systems.
Its optical sensing technology is designed to maintain consistent fingerprint capture across difficult finger conditions, while Live Finger Detection (LFD) helps strengthen protection against presentation attempts. Multi-platform support and a comprehensive SDK further simplify integration into authentication applications, with optional AES-256 encryption available for additional protection of fingerprint data in transit.
Together, these capabilities make the A600 a practical authentication device for government and commercial services that depend on trusted digital identity—from benefit delivery and financial services to healthcare, telecom, and other citizen-facing applications.
